Last Sunday Pastor Jared talked about the Gospel – the GOOD NEWS! One of Jesus’ last commands was that we should share the Good News. This Saturday August 13 we will be doing just that, going through our neighborhoods hanging a gift of a DVD about the life of Jesus and other information including a brochure about our church on each door. We will also be praying for the people who live in each home as we go.
We will gather at the church at 8:00 AM for pancakes and sausage joyfully prepared by Pastor Jared. While we enjoy his cooking, we will watch a short video illustrating what this work is all about, and then have a short briefing about what to do (and not do) while we hang the packages on each door. We hope to be out on the streets by 9:00 AM, if not earlier.
Even if you are not able or inclined to go door to door with the Good News, we encourage you to join us in fellowship hall for breakfast, and then while others are out on the streets, stay in the hall to: 1) prepare more packets for distribution, and/or 2) pray for all those working the streets, as well as all the residents who will be touched by the gift of the Gospel. We of course need as many people going door to door as we can get, but making more packets is just as important, and prayer is most important of all.
Be sure if you plan to go out on the streets to have a hat, light clothing, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, water, etc. We plan to be done by or before noon. If you need to leave early, that is OK, come for as long as works for you. Come and join the joy of sharing the Gospel this Saturday August 13 at 8:00 AM.
